I'll give you one example that will immediately make you understand how much I stink at this side of life management:
I have a cell phone. I couldn't tell you to save my life my cell phone number.
On a really bad day, I will hesitate before I can tell you the full birthdate of one of my children.
I learned a long time ago, that to keep up with the Rolodex Mom's in this world, I would need to write it all down. In essence, I don't think I have ever departed from the required "Assignment Notebook" all of us as teenagers carried around in junior high and high school. It is tempting to go all electronic with my information management, of which I partially do, however, I need to have a hard copy at my finger tips. Leaving notes on a wall calendar in my kitchen doesn't help the helpless. I need it to be portable. As a result, almost every year I have used a bound monthly calendar to stay organized.
Last year, I stumbled upon a wonderful calendar/organizer created specifically for mothers with children by a company called MomAgenda. In addition to the monthly calendar in the front, each week is laid out with space for myself plus individual spaces for four children. I use different colored happy face stickers to identify each child's weekly row. There's even a space for dinner plans. I have enjoyed the classy feel of this calendar, and it's many, many extras that are included. It is the only bound calendar I have found that allows me to manage my entire family's numerous outings and activities. Last week, I purchased my second refill for the Pink Executive Portfolio Tom Builder surprised me with last year. (MomAgenda calendars are 17 month day planners beginning in August.)

I definitely have to have a calendar. Oh everyone in this house would be in such a mess if it were all left up to my memory!
I do the same thing. I have a spiral bound calendar/to do list/notepad that is consulted with first thing every morning. Recently, I had to go shopping for my new one, I wish I had known about the MomAgenda Calendars, it sounds perfect. I'm going to have to remember this for next year! :)
4 toilets is definitely more than enough for me; I can't imagine having 6!! Today is bathroom day for me. :-(
I have a strange ability to remember dates and phone numbers, although I've noticed that since children, my present-time, short-term propensity for this has diminished somewhat. Add the fact that now phone numbers are one-touch speed-dial and it's harder to remember them. However, give me a date and I'll tell you any old high school buddy with that b'day. Dh says I'm wasting valuable brain space! :-)
I duplicate some of my organizational efforts. I have the kitchen calendar by the garage door because I often have to consult it when someone calls, etc. My other duplicated calendar is in Outlook. Having the calendar on the computer is a pain, though, for quick consultation, so it would be nice to have a daytimer type calendar. I'm going to look into the Mom Agenda. It sounds cool, although we as a family generally have the same schedule at this point in life. I guess with b'ball coming up, though, we may be going in separate directions occasionally.
I really like this calendar idea. Currently, I just use a normal calendar.
How in the world do you clean your bathrooms and do everything else? We have 3 dc, age 5 and under and I have always used housecleaners. Maybe one day we can all do the cleaning. Oh, I remember long ago you writing about picking up toys (if they're not picked up...first a spank, then give them away). Our oldest is a strong concrete random and it's tough! I am trying so hard to say things once (like the toys thing). Mary Brooke
Still considering the ESV bible for everything (memorization, etc.)
